Enquiry2 Way Messaging

Mobicast provides the extension of messaging with two way messaging.

The two way SMS feature works by using a keyword as identifier of your message. The keyword can be an alphanumeric combination or plain abbreviated form of your ’Brand Name’ or »Company name’ or relevant words as per your requirement. The keyword can be of maximum 7 characters.

Following types of responses to the keyword set are supported -

Simple Message response:
Subscriber receives a static message that is set against a keyword.

Simple URL Forwarding:
The hit for a keyword is forwarded directly to the URL exposed by the customer. No static messages are set here.

Forwarding with Static Response:
In this a request received for a keyword is forwarded to customer’s URL and a Static response is configured for that keyword is sent back to the subscriber.

Response from URL:
In this case the request received from the subscriber is forwarded to the URL exposed by the customer/enterprise and the response received from the URL is then forwarded to the subscriber. The most significant example is of knowing the balance of your account. E.g. if bal is the keyword received, the same is forwarded to the Bank’s exposed URL and the balance received from the Bank’s database is forwarded to the subscriber.

Short code Solution

SMS short code is a 5 digit number to which the mobile users can send text messages regardless of their telecommunications service provider and obtain the response in seconds. Shortcodes are easier to remember, practical and integrated across all telecom operators to provide a seamless experience to all users throughout India.

These services range from information on demand, subscription-based service or SMS Trivia Games, SMS contests, opinion polls and SMS voting services. Short code works in local geographical areas.

We offer both shared and a dedicated short code. A Short code can be share across different customers, but differentiated by keywords. These are called shares short codes. Dedicated Short codes provide freedom to customers to device their own keywords which can be multiple ones also. Dedicated short codes make you build your brand.

Our 2 way messaging platform is based on multiple nodes and has facility to run multiple instances of every node. Its basis is the suffix model i.e. for any short code with suffix there should be some application to process that request and after processing that application return back the response message to Pull Platform for sending back to customer.

SMS Short codes are widely used for value-added services such as tv voting, ordering ringtones, charity donations & mobile services. They are used in various campaigns. Messages sent to the short code numbers are billed at a premium price.

Long code solution

There are also called as virtual numbers and are 10 digit numbers. Long code has a global reach. Messages can be sent from any international mobile networks , and is received over the net using our web interface or can be downloaded in real-time by an application using SMPP. Unlike SMS short codes which works for a local geographical area within the operator/s footprint, SMS long codes or virtual numbers can receive messages from devices across the world.
